We are currently seeking a Diet Aide (Health Center Server) on our Des Moines campus. We are looking for both Full time and Part time availability. The Full Time position includes medical, dental and vision the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment. The Diet Aide has a rotating schedule which may include days or evenings and weekends.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to performing resident tray set up and pick up, pouring beverages for resident delivery, setting up the resident dining room and dishwashing. Our purpose is to provide assistance and the best possible service for our residents.
Experience as a Diet Aide in a skilled nursing facility a plus
Cooperative attitude toward others, and able to work as a team
Professional, friendly and considerate toward residents, resident families and coworkers
Must be able to stand for two hours at a time and a possible total of 8 hours per shift
Must be able to lift up 50 pounds
Current food and Beverage Service Workers permit for the State of Washington (or obtain within 10 days of hire)
Ability to read, write and speak English language is required
Possesses initiative and dependability in carrying out responsibilities
Must be 18 yrs or older
Able to document eligibility to work in the USA
Able to provide 3 professional references
Must be able to pass Drug Screen, DSHS and WSP Background inquiry

Our Dining Room Servers are responsible for the following:
Setting tables in dining room for meal service
On occasion, setting up and preparing food items
Keeping the food and beverage area organized and fully-stocked
Getting to know the menu for each meal to assure all items are available and to answer the residents' questions
Staying on top of menu changes, specials, and special requests
Keeping the dining room neat, clean and tidy at all times
Being willing and able to help residents with any meal service assistance they might request or require
Greeting guests, informing them of specials and changes; answering questions and making suggestions
Processing resident orders to ensure items are prepared properly and served promptly
Maintaining a positive, outgoing and upbeat attitude throughout service and while interacting with residents and coworkers
Following guidelines for uniforms, hair, cleanliness, and food handling
Providing additional assistance to your team as needed
Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.
